Publisher Description
LAIA is an Android app that teaches you the basics of Android development in the palm of your hand (or tablet). Now, you can be riding the subway or bus or in that annoying carpool to work, and use the time to be productive by reading through the simple tutorial SferaDev has put together. And to make it even more of a big deal, he has open-sourced the application, allowing anyone to contribute or fork it and make something different. The application is still in its infancy, but it is continually evolving as SferaDev adds more chapters to the application.
"XDA Senior Member SferaDev has taken a slightly different approach to helping teach Android Development by changing the medium. Instead of utilizing a walkthrough on a computer or video, he has decided to teach about Android in Android, with a project he is calling “Learn Android in Android” or LAIA."
Why I created this app?
The idea came while thinking about the people trying to learn how to program Android and how much they cost. Moreover, all those hours reading books, watching videos on youtube ... So I did LAIA. LAIA has a different group of philosophies:
1. All open-source (Github).
2. Adaptable to all possible devices (2.1 + API and code snippets readable on any screen).
3. Simplicity and shortness of chapters.
4. Not a HOWTO step by step, rather give the concept and encourage the reader to develop.
5. Following the advice of Google (Action Bar, Holo Style, Respectful LifeCycle ...)
The future of the app?
My initial idea was to make between 8 and 10 basic chapters and leave the door open for readers who wanted and were able to work with new chapters.
I also want to create new projects so I do not want to be tied to a single path (but this requires money ...). My philosophy has always been not to put ads or place ads that do not disturb. So that in the future may have LAIA Ads unless the project works only with voluntary donations to continue the job.
Current Languages: EN, DE, ES, NL, PT, FR. HU, RU
Please give feedback, and install the app! Any idea is welcomed! Translations welcomed! Remember that all the chapters aren't finished nor published.
